Eröffnungszeremonie: Chrysanthemum meets Hundred Blossoms

Chrysanthemum Meets Hundred Blossoms ist eine partizipative Teezeremonie von Stanford Chen und Zarina Tadjibaeva. Sie ist aus Gesprächen über Diaspora, Muttersprachen, verkörperte Erinnerung und die vielen Sprachen unserer Wurzeln entstanden.

Gemeinsam laden sie die Teilnehmenden in einen sanften Raum der Verbindung, des Zuhörens und der stillen Erdung ein. Durch Tee, Süsse, gemeinsame Präsenz und einfache Gesten stellt die Zeremonie Fragen: Was ist die Sprache von Zugehörigkeit? Was tragen wir im Körper, bevor Worte entstehen? Welche Formen von Zugehörigkeit werden möglich, wenn wir zusammenkommen, zuhören und füreinander Sorge tragen?

Eris Ethan Luis Dagatan wuchs in einer politisch aktiven Familie auf und verbrachte einen grossen Teil seiner Kindheit bei Demonstrationen und Protesten an der Seite seiner Eltern. Diese Erfahrungen prägten früh seine Sicht auf die Welt. Literatur wurde für ihn bald zu einem Zufluchtsort und zu einer Quelle des Verstehens – besonders durch die emotionale Kraft, die Worte tragen können.

Nachdem seine Familie aufgrund der Gefahren rund um die Arbeit seiner Eltern gezwungen war, die Philippinen zu verlassen, wandte er sich in einer schwierigen Lebensphase zunehmend der Poesie zu. Bis heute fasziniert ihn die Fähigkeit von Gedichten, tiefe und komplexe Gefühle mit wenigen, sorgfältig gewählten Worten auszudrücken. Seitdem versucht er, Texte zu schreiben, die andere auf ähnliche Weise auffangen können, wie die Poesie für ihn selbst zu einem Zufluchtsort wurde.

Performance von body_hacker und suziethecockroach

dispel (2026) ist eine klanglich animierte, textbasierte Work-in-Progress-Performance. Zwei Schwarze queere Orakel-Personae arbeiten bei einer fiktiven Firma namens Nordic Melancholy, wo sie beruflich Flüche und Prophezeiungen für die dänische Psyche heraufbeschwören. Doch die Orakel werden von ihren eigenen Gaben ausgetrickst: Ihre hellseherische Kraft hebt sich selbst auf durch Zukünfte, die sich weigern, gewusst zu werden.

Die Performance-Personae werden vom langjährigen Kopenhagener Kollaborationsduo body_hacker (Sall Lam Toro) und suziethecockroach (Alma Silva) verkörpert. Sie bringen Humor, Intensität, subversive Wortspiele und eine ausserweltliche Rätselhaftigkeit in die Texte ein, begleitet von den Soundscape-Kompositionen von Asta Norborg.

Stand-up Comedy

Seit 2016 in Berlin ansässig, hat Naya de Souza die Kulturszene mit multimedialen Cabaret-Performances und politisch aufgeladenen Stand-up-Sets geprägt. Ihre Online-Figur Bundaskanzlerin versteht sich als Social-Media-Kritik an Deutschlands ausschliessender Politik- und Kunstwelt. Mit Found Footage, Videocollagen, Fotografie und Memes entwickelt sie eine Sprache gegen Zensur und greift Themen auf, die häufig ausgeblendet oder zensiert werden.

Durch ihre pädagogischen Memes und ihre vermittelnde Praxis ist Naya zu einer der einflussreichen Stimmen Berlins geworden – besonders für Kunst- und Kulturinstitutionen, die jüngere und marginalisierte Zielgruppen in Deutschland erreichen möchten.

Anouchka Gwen ist Singer-Songwriterin, Bassistin und Kulturarbeiter*in, geboren und aufgewachsen in der Schweiz und derzeit in Zürich lebend. Verletzlichkeit, Komplexität und die Emotionen, die das Leben mit sich bringt, bilden zentrale Inspirationsquellen ihrer Musik.

Mit ihrer träumerischen, bassigen Stimme bringt Anouchka Gwen tiefste und ehrlichste Gedanken zum Ausdruck und nimmt selbstbewusst Raum ein. Als Künstler*in mit kongolesischen Wurzeln ist Anouchka Gwen von repetitiven, souligen und rhythmischen Melodien geprägt und verbindet diese mit elektronischen, psychedelischen und weit aufgespannten Pop-Soundscapes.

Nach einer notwendigen Pause von der Bühne als Frontperson kehrt Anouchka Gwen zu den eigenen Anfängen zurück: solo auf der Bühne, nur mit Stimme und Bass, verletzlich und direkt.

Der Abend wird von Zarina Tadjibaeva moderiert.

Opening Ceremony: Chrysanthemum meets Hundred Blossoms

Chrysanthemum Meets Hundred Blossoms is a participatory tea ceremony by Stanford Chen and Zarina Tadjibaeva, shaped through conversations around diaspora, mother tongues, embodied memory, and the many languages of our roots.

Together, they invite participants into a gentle space of connection, listening, and quiet grounding. Through tea, sweetness, shared presence, and simple gestures, it asks: What is the language of belonging? What do we carry in the body before words arrive? What forms of belonging become possible when we gather, listen, and care for one another?

Participants are welcome to drink tea together and allow themselves to be present in the space, with their bodies and with one another. They may share a word, a thought, sound or a moment of silence. All languages are welcome. 

At the heart of the ceremony is a simple invitation: to feel belonging as something lived in the body, in relation, and in the many languages of our roots.

Born into a politically active family, I spent much of my childhood attending demonstrations and protests alongside my parents, experiences that shaped my worldview from an early age. Literature soon became both a refuge and a source of understanding for me, especially after reading and discovering the emotional power that words can carry. After my family was forced to flee the Philippines due to the dangers surrounding my parents’ work, I turned increasingly toward poetry during a difficult period in my life. I remain deeply drawn to poetry’s ability to express profound and complex emotions through only a few carefully chosen words. From then on, I began trying to create pieces that could pull others out of the depths in the same way poetry became a refuge for me, which is why no matter how dark my poems begin, there will always be something sweet after the bitter.

Performance by body_hacker and suziethecockroach

dispel (2026) is a sonically animated text-based work-in-progress performance piece. Two Black queer oracle personae work at a fictitious company called Nordic Melancholy where they are tasked with conjuring curses and prophecies for a living directed toward the Danish psyche. Yet, the oracles are tricked by their own gifts as their oracular power undoes itself through futures that refuse to be known. The performance personae are played by the long-time Copenhagen-based collaborator duo body_hacker (Sall Lam Toro) and suziethecockroach (Alma Silva), who bring humour, intensity, subversive wordplay, and otherworldly mystery to the writing of these texts accompanied by Asta Norborg’s soundscape compositions.

Stand-Up Comedy by Naya de Souza

Based in Berlin since 2016, Naya has stormed the cultural scene with her multimedia cabaret performances and politically charged stand-up sets. Her online “Bundaskanzlerin” serves as a social media critique of Germany’s exclusionary political/art world, utilizing found footage, video collages, photography and memes to create an “anti censorship” language and tackle censored topics. With her pedagogical memes and adept teaching skills, Naya has become one of Berlin’s most influential voices, sought after by art and cultural institutions aiming to engage younger and marginalized audiences in Germany.

With a background in gastronomy, Naya is a classically trained chef de cuisine with a degree in the field. She worked in the restaurant industry until 2021, notably at Kin Dee Berlin, established by Michelin star chef Dalad Khambu and artist and chef Rirkrit Tiravanija. While she occasionally continues her culinary pursuits, Naya’s culinary philosophy extends beyond the kitchen, viewing food as a catalyst for social cohesion. She has curated events at prestigious venues such as C/O Gallery Berlin and Coin Coin Zurich.

Additionally, Naya is recognized for her contributions as an educator and HIV rights activist, collaborating with esteemed institutions including AIDSHILFE (Berlin, Mittelhessen, Zurich), Checkpoint, TriQ, MigrationsRat, and Les Migras. She has also delivered lectures at renowned universities such as UDK, HWR Berlin, and Willem de Kooning Academy.

Anouchka Gwen (*1997) is a swiss born and raised singer-songwriter, bass player and cultural worker currently based in Zurich, Switzerland.

The vulnerability, complexities and emotions that life brings are their main inspirations. With their dreamy and bassy voice, they aim to voice their deepest and most honest thoughts and unapologetically take space. As an artist with congolese roots, they’re influenced and inspired by repetitive, soulful and rhythmic melodies and mixes it with their love for electronic psychedelic wide pop infused soundscapes.

After a needed break from the stage as a front person, Anouchka Gwen decides to go back to their beginning ways, solo on stage, offering their deepest thoughts in a vulnerable way with their voice and bass only.
