The table, seen as a symbol of shame, becomes a transformative artistic intervention, challenging the historical representations and repercussions of the Treaty of Lausanne (1923) in the contemporary moment.

MigrArt – Zurich Decolonial Art Collective DACZ’s organized Group Exhibition, “And Other Instruments: Decolonizing a Table. Molecules of Collective Memory in Exil,” addresses the symbolic violence embedded in the table, it merges decolonial art and activism, focusing on the complex political situation faced by the Kurdish population Kurdistan and Middle Eastern immigrants scattered throughout Europe. The table, seen as a symbol of shame, becomes a transformative artistic intervention, challenging the historical representations and repercussions of the Treaty of Lausanne (1923) to be correctly perceived in the contemporary moment.
