FESTIVAL OPENING : Opening Ritual / Concert / Performances

Die Eröffnung von Antenna markiert den Beginn der Festivalwoche sowie der Ausstellung in der BINZ39. Der Abend bringt künstlerische Arbeiten, Prozessmaterialien, Klang, Film und Dokumentationen aus dem kollektiven Antenna-Netzwerk zusammen – begleitet von Momenten der Begegnung, Performance und des Zusammenkommens.

Zwischen Installation, Archiv, Performance und Begegnungsraum eröffnet die Ausstellung Verbindungen zwischen Migration, Erinnerung, Widerstand und kultureller Produktion aus BIPoC-, diasporischen und exilierten Perspektiven. Anstatt eine feste Erzählung vorzugeben, entfaltet sie sich als offener und lebendiger Prozess: als Raum für Begegnung, Zuhören und kollektive Reflexion, der während der Festivalwoche weiterwächst.

Pagdiwata Ritual von Reya Morgado

Ein Ritual der Manobo-Gemeinschaft, das durchgeführt wird, um Segen zu erbitten, Dankbarkeit auszudrücken, die Harmonie mit der Natur zu bewahren oder direkt mit Gottheiten zu kommunizieren. Im Rahmen des Antenna Festivals wird dabei das Spirit House (Dapogan) präsentiert und mit Gaben eröffnet.

Besucher*innen sind eingeladen, ein Objekt ihrer Wahl als Gabe für das Dapogan mitzubringen – verbunden mit ihren eigenen Wünschen.

In the Memory Of. 

Eine Performance von Yara Bou Nassar

An vielen Orten zugleich zu sein. Sich an geteilte Momente zu erinnern, an geliebte und verlorene Menschen, an Familienfotos, an die Was-wäre-wenns, an zerstörte Gebäude, leergeräumte Wohnungen, unerzählte Geschichten, offene Wunden – und an die Liebe. Die Liebe. Dann entsteht eine Feier, ein Moment, in dem alles zu einer einzigen Form verschmilzt und aus meinem Körper hervorbricht: in jeder Bewegung, in Haut, Muskeln und Knochen, in Haaren, Schweiss und Fingerspitzen. Dies ist eine Feier von Trauer und Dankbarkeit. Und dann seid ihr da – jeder von euch, als Zeugin.

A Mist, a Dust, a Fire (Calming)

Dies ist kein Konzert; vielleicht ist es eine Anrufung – aber ganz sicher ist es ein Akt des Atmens. Das Räucherwerk, das für dieses Spirit House geschaffen wurde, wird entzündet. Während sich der Duft entfaltet, stimmen wir uns auf den Ort ein. „Come sit on the shelf of my house“, sagten sie. Wie ein Engel. Wie ein Gast. Als würde ich dazugehören. Manche Körper resonieren anders als andere. Nicht alles, was kraftvoll ist, verlangt danach, gesehen zu werden.

Konzert von Aineo

In diesem Konzert erkundet Aineo Themen wie Liebe, Erinnerung, Zugehörigkeit und die Wege, die uns prägen. In eigenen Songs auf Runyankole-Rukiga verwebt sie persönliche Geschichten mit geteilten menschlichen Erfahrungen und schafft Momente der Reflexion, Verbindung und Entdeckung. Das Konzert lädt das Publikum dazu ein, über Sprache hinaus zu hören und sich in Melodien und Emotionen wiederzufinden, die durch Kulturen, Orte und gelebte Erfahrungen reisen.

Die Stimme, die weiterwächst (engl.: The Voice That Continues to Grow) ist eine Installation, die sich mit Flucht, Erinnerung und der Fragilität persönlicher Archive auseinandersetzt. Im Zentrum stehen Briefe, Objekte, erzählerische Fragmente sowie Dinge, die mitgenommen oder zurückgelassen wurden. Was im Moment der Flucht mitgenommen wird, wird zu einem Samen der Erinnerung, der an neuen Orten weiterwächst. Was zurückgelassen werden musste, bleibt als Leerstelle präsent und hallt in der Erinnerung nach.

Die Installation fragt danach, wie Zeugenschaft möglich bleibt, wenn Archive Lücken aufweisen und materielle Spuren beschädigt, verloren oder neu gedeutet werden. Zwischen Materialität, Stille und Fragmentierung entsteht ein Raum, in dem Verlust nicht einfach endet, sondern erneut Wurzeln schlägt. Die Arbeit verbindet persönliche Geschichte mit kollektivem Gedächtnis und zeigt, wie Erinnerung trotz Abwesenheit weitergetragen werden kann.

Ein immersives Audio-Drama zwischen fragmentierter Erinnerung, afro-kosmischer Autofiktion und indigenem Wissen. Durch Stimmen, Klanglandschaften und bewegte Erzählungen öffnet die Arbeit Räume für Befreiung, Transformation und andere Welten.

Eine Listening Station mit Ausschnitten aus MigrArts Podcast-Reihe Talk Talk Talk. Die Gespräche eröffnen Räume für Austausch, Reflexion und kollektives Handeln rund um Rassismus, Community, queere Identität, mothering, Kulturarbeit und institutionelle Machtverhältnisse.

The opening of Antenna marks the beginning of both the festival week and the exhibition at BINZ39. The evening brings together artistic works, process materials, sound, film and documentation from the collective Antenna network, alongside live moments of encounter, performance and gathering.

Moving between installation, archive, performance and gathering space, the exhibition opens up connections between migration, memory, resistance and cultural production from BIPoC, diasporic and exiled perspectives. Rather than presenting a fixed narrative, it unfolds as an open and evolving process: a space for encounter, listening and collective reflection that continues to grow throughout the festival week.

To be in many places at once, to remember moments shared, people loved and lost, the family photos, the what ifs, the buildings destroyed, the apartments emptied, the untold stories, the open wounds, and the love. The love. Then comes a celebration, a moment where everything merges together as one entity and gushes out of my body, in every movement, my skin, muscles and bones, hair, sweat and the tip of my fingers. This is a celebration of grief and gratitude. And then there is you, every one of you, a witness.

This is not a concert; perhaps it is an invocation; but it is most certainly an act of breathing. The incense created for this spirit house is being lit. As the scent unfolds, we attune ourselves to the place. “‘Come sit on the shelf of my house’, they said. Like an angel. Like a guest. Like I belong”. Some bodies may resonate differently than others. Not everything powerful asks to be seen. 

Concert  by Aineo

In this concert, Aineo explores themes of love, memory, belonging, and the journeys that shape who we become. Through original songs in Runyankole-Rukiga, she weaves together personal stories and shared human experiences, creating moments of reflection, connection, and discovery. The show invites the audience to listen beyond language and find themselves in melodies and emotions that travel across cultures, places, and lived experiences.

Die Stimme, die weiterwächst (engl.: The Voice That Continues to Grow)  is an installation exploring flight, memory, and the fragility of personal archives. At its core are letters, objects, narrative fragments, and items both taken along and left behind. What is taken at the moment of flight becomes a seed of memory that continues to grow in new places. What had to be left behind remains present as a void and continues to resonate in memory. The installation explores how bearing witness remains possible when archives contain gaps and material traces are damaged, lost, or reinterpreted. Between materiality, silence, and fragmentation, a space emerges in which loss does not simply end but takes root anew. The work connects personal history with collective memory and reveals how memory can be carried forward despite absence.
