SUMMARY:Acousmo: Marina mello\, Khabat Abbas
DESCRIPTION:Doors: 20:30\nConcerts: 21:30 \nAddress: Allmendstrasse 93\, 8041 Zürich \, Halle D\, First Floor \nAcousmo is a concert and sound art series focused on intentional listening. It offers a space for concentrated engagement with live sound and aims to counter the fast and superficial consumption of music. In this cycle\, Acousmo introduces a new format: each evening begins with two solo performances by musicians or sound artists that are curated by the community. These are followed by an improvised set where both artists perform together. \n  \n Photo by Philip Frowein\nMarina mello (ZH) \nMarina Mello is a Brazilian harpist based in Zurich with a wide range of experience as a musician. She has developed a unique and very expressive style through the harp and its infinite possibilities. In this sense\, she presents her artistic journey\, mainly researching new sound textures through paradoxes between emptiness and noisy textures\, and harmonic and random-spontaneous vertical sounds. Focusing on non-traditional ways of playing – with extended technique\, prepared instrument and with effect pedals (hybrid\, acoustic and electric harps)\, Marina believes that as a woman and a harpist there are many stereotypes and expectations that can and should be disrupted. In 2022\, she graduated with honors with a Master’s degree at ZHdK (Zurich University of arts) under the guidance of Professor Sarah O’Brien (classical harp)\, Lucas Niggli (improvisation practices)\, Ariana Savall (renascence music) and Charlotte Hug (transdisciplinary practices). \n  \n  \n Photo by Joe Christman\n  \nKhabat Abbas(LDN) \nKhabat Abas is a cellist\, composer\, and interdisciplinary artist from Kurdistan-Iraq. Her work investigates time\, space\, and memory through music\, and noise. She is particularly interested in how we experience sound within different geopolitical contexts. Abas pushes the boundaries of her instrument—improvising\, composing\, producing videos and sound installations\, building cellos from unconventional materials\, and incorporating the body as an instrument. Through this practice\, she fuses politics with the personal\, challenging dominant values and systems of control.

SUMMARY:FESTIVAL OPENING : Opening Ritual / Concert / Performances
DESCRIPTION:The opening exhibition of Antenna brings together artistic works\, process materials\, sound\, film and documentation emerging from the collective Antenna network. Expanding across installation\, archive\, performance and gathering space\, the exhibition traces the connections between migration\, memory\, resistance and cultural production through perspectives shaped by BIPoC\, diasporic and exiled communities. Rather than presenting a fixed narrative\, the exhibition unfolds as a living process — a space for encounter\, listening and collective reflection that continues to grow throughout the festival week.

SUMMARY:Why “Intergenerational Discussion”
DESCRIPTION:OPEN DISCUSSION WITH PAULA CHARLES \n\n\n\nIn today’s digital\, fast-moving and demanding world the younger generation needs also othervoices\, needs a mixture of wise experiences and life wisdom. My own early years living with eldershelped me with who I am today. In my culture in the Caribbean in those days\, older generationswere needed\, accepted and respected. Their advice was appreciated. It was simple\, but also madeyou feel you were being heard and your views matter. One felt good being with them\, their wisdomsank deep into the soul. I still remember to this very day in difficult adult moments some of thatadvice. They were in almost every part of my life.In todays world there is a lot of talk with very little content that could move you a little closer toyourself and the meaning of life as you grow in a world that demands your time with highexpectations. You hear from young people saying life is too hectic\, too draining\, too strenuous\,weariness\, depression and burnout is frequent. In Europe\, older generations don’t seem to have much say in the younger generation lives especiallythose who aren’t family. Individuality is high on the agenda here. Coming together as a community \n\n\n\nto share thoughts and hear elders speak from experience isn’t a common theme here. With busy on-line lives\, little time is spent visiting family and friends\, sharing experiences directly. This world we \n\n\n\nare living in has little tolerance for peoples stories and doubts and misgivings. As an Elder\, Activist and Author its my aim and wish to meet and share\, to encourage and supportyoung people. I have always been interested in young people lives\, what they do\, what they think ofthe older generation\, what ideas they would like to exchange. We can listen to each other withoutfear and prejudice. When I have had that opportunity it has worked well and the feedback hasalways been very positive and appreciative.

SUMMARY:X collective X : Je ne vous l’apprends pas
DESCRIPTION:Je ne vous l’apprends pas is an experimental audio project that blends indigenous science fiction\, Afro-cosmic autofiction\, and binaural sound to question and undo Earth-bound systems of categorization. Under the artistic direction of Jamika Ajalon and inspired by her Anti-Lectures\, the project brings together the writers Saya Mamani\, Nayansaku Mufwankolo\, and Meloe Gennai. Their work examines how language creates borders between identities\, geographies\, bodies\, and ways of knowing\, and how those borders might be unsettled. \n\n\n\nThe podcast moves fluidly across French\, English\, Italian\, and other familiar languages. Sounds\, words\, cries\, songs\, and silences are layered to create a listening experience rooted in constant movement and transformation\, resisting fixed meaning and stable form. \n\n\n\nEach episode is composed by sound artist Legion Seven as a sensory performance in which audio shifts from dense\, terrestrial rhythms toward the extraterrestrial\, allowing the work to slip free from inherited social\, racial\, and linguistic hierarchies. The project fosters exchange across Switzerland’s different linguistic regions while centering intersecting lived experiences of trans and non-binary people\, racialized communities\, and neurodivergent and disabled individuals\, without separating these realities into isolated experiences. Sound becomes a shared space for experimentation and relation\, where alternative ways of being\, communicating\, and belonging can be articulated beyond dominant hierarchies. For the Antenna Festival\, xcollectivex proposes a shared listening session featuring selected excerpts from the podcast\, followed by a moderated discussion with the artists and producers. This conversation will address the motivations behind the work\, the collaborative process\, and the political stakes of the project. Alongside this\, a listening station will be installed for the duration of the festival\, enabling audiences to engage with the completepodcast in their own time.Je ne vous l’apprends pas explores movement\, displacement\, and the transformation of identities across borders by treating language\, sound\, and the body as migratory spaces that are continuously shifting\, refusing containment\, and opening pathways beyond national\, social\, and planetary boundaries. The French expression “je ne vous l’apprends pas” translates as “I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know.” The phrase carries an ironic\, knowing tone\, pointing to shared histories\, implicit knowledge\, and truths that circulate without needing to berestated.
